The best first product you can sell as a creator

Published:

You don’t need a life-changing product to have a good one.

All you need is something you’re already great at: connecting with people.

And offering 1:1 calls is the best ways to monetize yourself while building your product or service.

“But Jordan, how can I find what my audience wants?”

Simple.

Here’s how to start:

1. Just ask

Begin by offering free sessions. Talk to people. Let them know you’re doing 1:1 sessions. These free chats are amazing ‘cuz they tell you exactly what your audience needs.

The better you know your audience → the more effectively you can help them.

2. Build solutions

As you learn about the problems your audience is having, ask yourself if there’s something you know that can be used as a solution. This turns your coaching from just advice to a valuable package you can later sell.

2.1. Bonus tip

Have conversations in the DMs. It’s a personal touch that shows you’re there to help, not just sell.

3. Put a price on the call

Start free, then raise your prices up ⎼ 10%, 20%, and so on. As your experience and demand grow, so can your rates. The goal isn’t to work more. It’s to maximize the value of each session.

And the more you help. The more value you create. And the more money you can make.

Pretty sweet deal, right?
