Description:

American Ninja Warrior Competitor & Obstacle Race Expert Dan Holguin, Reveals His Secret Systems For The First Time Ever To HELP YOU FINISH FIRST On Race Day So That Your Co-Workers FINALLY Give You The Respect You Deserve.

Dan Holguin, The Author of Training For Mud Runs

I hated running; I hated obstacles. Honestly, there wasn’t much I didn’t hate. I still sometimes ask myself how I made it out alive of the darkest, most difficult part of my life.

Looking back, I had a pretty decent life around 2013-ish.  Although my background has always been in fitness, I took a construction job working ridiculous hours out of town and away from my family. For years I told myself that I couldn’t live the life I wanted and follow my passion and therefore, settled for less than I was worth– I had low self-esteem and my confidence was non-existent.

I worked a job where my co-workers were unhappy which in turn, amplified my unhappiness. Because I was the FNG (fu*#ing new guy), I was treated as such. I always got the worst treatment and when we worked out of town, I was forced to sleep outside or on the floor.

It was a chilly October morning and I went to visit my longtime coach/mentor/father figure at his house. When I arrived the door was locked and the blinds were drawn. After ringing the bell and knocking repeatedly with no answer, it raised my suspicion.

So I broke down the door and went inside…

I went downstairs to the master bedroom to find Coach asleep in bed…Whew! I thought something bad had happened.

As I pulled back the covers to wake him, his cold and lifeless body laid untouched on the mattress. Alone and already in shock, I called 911 and sat on the front porch until the ambulance arrived.

The next 59 days were the worst in my entire life.

I felt alone and unable to control my emotions–I was lost and at times, suicidal.

Immediately after his death I lost my job, my family (a relationship of almost 7 years) and to sweeten the deal, my truck was totaled in a collision.  In less than two months I had successfully laid the blueprint for an award-winning country song.

The moment of “no more” came to me when I realized that I had pushed away the people who cared about me most and allowed myself to be controlled by circumstance.

I was 30 pounds heavier than I had ever been in my entire life and no longer had control over my body or mind.

One day out of the blue, I got a call from a friend who had signed up for an obstacle race and needed someone to train with; the call caught me entirely off guard but the voice in my heart said “go for it”.

After hanging up the phone I remember being scared, nervous and my anxiety was at an all-time high because I’d just committed to do this thing that was EXTREMELY out of my comfort-zone.

Listening to my heart in that moment and taking the leap of faith to step outside of my comfort-zone and fight to regain the life I had always dreamed of was the best decision I’ve ever made.

For the next 8 weeks I trained my ass off six, sometimes seven days a week. I felt like I was in a movie.

You know, the one where the underdog is training for his last chance of recognition and if he wins, the whole world will remember him and that magical moment.

The first week of training was the hardest—I was sore every day and wanted to give up almost hourly because of how far gone I was. My breathing efficiency was as if someone had just knocked the wind out of me and my pride had been damaged beyond recognition. My legs hurt, my feet hurt; my everything hurt but the voice in my head kept saying, “don’t you dare quit”.

I slowly started changing my eating habits as well to accompany all the hard work I had been putting in and began to notice dramatic changes in my physical appearance as well as my mindset.

By Week 4, I couldn’t wait to train—It was the highlight of my day because I was at a point where I became confident in the exercises I was doing. My co-workers began to notice a change in my attitude and began complimenting my physical transformation as well. I finally started getting the recognition I wanted!

Before I knew it, I had dropped almost all of the weight I had gained (27 lbs total)—I could see my abs again! Race day was finally here and because I stayed COMMITTED to my goal, I felt more confident than I’ve ever been in my life. I pushed my way to the front of the start line and as the gun went off, it was a rush like I’d never experienced.

The proudest moment of my life came as I crossed the finish line and a medal was placed around my neck.

I finished FIRST in my heat and 9th overall!

From that moment on, everything changed!. My first day back to work after the race was the best—everyone knew I had been busting my ass for so long and I finally got some recognition from my co-workers. I felt on top of the world! It gave me the most incredible boost of confidence and has fueled me to continue to push my limits.

A good friend of mine recently decided to join up in our flag football league. His background was in collegiate baseball and he’s a hell of a sprinter… Rec sports seemed like a no-brainer right?

Until you factor in that for the past 6 years he’s moved away from athletics and into bodybuilding. Halfway through the first game of the season, we ran a play on offense and he took off with the ball. Heading up field, he tripped over something.

His groin tore and was unable to walk for about a week. Here’s a pic of how it looked shortly after!

Bench Presses and Bicep Curls do nothing for you in a race!

I’ve ran countless Mud Run & Obstacle Races and I can’t think of a single time I’ve been lying on my back pressing something off of me or standing still curling something up to my face.

Don’t waste your time on exercises that don’t matter!

You have limited time to prepare for this race and each day you continue to train like you did in high school using that outdated  ‘3 sets of 10’ workout, the more likely you are to end up like Jesse did.

This program goes much deeper than my love for Mud Runs & Obstacle Races.

It’s real science that has been tested and proven to work. In fact, its some of the same training methods used in the NFL, NBA, NHL etc. If it’s good for those guys, it’s gotta be worth taking a look at.

I have dedicated my life to Athletic Performance and in this program, I show you every major finding in Performance Training over the past 12 years to keep you injury-free and not feeling worthless because you can’t keep up with everyone else at the office.

I’ve taken out all of the guesswork and headaches in preparing for your first race so that you can just focus on finishing strong and proving to yourself how POWERFUL you really are.

“I first started Training For Mud Runs with no intention of competing in a race. I was simply looking to improve my overall fitness level and was working out rigorously almost daily without improvement.

Dan’s program made the workouts fun but not easy. Combining strength training and trail running kept it balanced so it was never a boring grind. After Week 2 of Training For Mud Runs, I noticed drastic improvement in stamina and overall strength.

By Week 4, I shaved off over 4.5 minutes of my 2-mile time and still had energy to spare. Dan’s program covers all aspects of race preparation and is achievable for all fitness levels!”

“I’ve been a competitive runner for years but it hasn’t been until recently that I’ve competed in Mud Runs. Trail running and Obstacle Courses demand so much more from your body and challenges you in whole new way.  Unlike your typical 5k/10k street runs, Functional strength training is an key element to competing well in Mud Runs.

Dan Holguin has put together a very effective program to prepare competitors for race day. Running and training next to Dan has brought me to a whole new level of competition”.

“I had low back pain when I started using Training For Mud Runs and it always set in after running or with certain exercises.

I learned the difference between core strength and core stability and after finishing Training For Mud Runs, I had great endurance the day of the race.  I actually enjoy running now that I don’t have low back pain!”

I’m confident that you will gain just as much or more by using Dan’s program!

“As a professional trainer and former collegiate athlete, I have a good idea of what a sound strength program looks like.

Training for mud runs and obstacle races requires a different approach than conventional training. In order to dominate in these types of events, function and mobility need to be the foundation of your training. This is EXACTLY what Dan has put together in his Training For Mud Runs program.

Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of working with many fitness professionals but Dan is a step above the rest, especially when it comes to functional and mobility training…Two of the most crucial aspects of obstacle course preparation.

Bottom line is that Training For Mud Runs is THE ONLY program you need to get ready for your next race!”

-Jesse Hedeen–Personal Trainer, Founder of The Bulk & Shred System

“I have been in the Health & Fitness industry for nearly 10 years. In my professional opinion, this is a perfect program for anyone wanting to prepare for a Mud Run for their first time or an experienced mudder looking to get right for the next race and leave their competition in the dust.

His progressions are appropriate and will help you build the necessary strength to dominate your race.

Dan thanks for challenging and making us strive to be better…Love your stuff!”
