Multiple explosions were reported on Sunday in at least five places in Sri Lanka, including churches convened for Easter Mass and high-end hotels in Colombo, the capital.

At least 50 people were injured, officials said. It was not immediately clear who was responsible for the attacks, or whether they were related to one another.

Pictures posted on social media showed blood and rubble on the grounds of one of the churches as members of the congregation tended to injured people strewn across pews.
